An open letter from John Edwards to all residents7.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 3rd May 2010
On Thursday we have the chance to do something different. We can vote for a real change. By voting Liberal Democrat you can make a real difference to change Britain for good and deliver fairness and hope for everyone. If you vote Liberal Democrat on Thursday we can create a fairer Britain. We can have fairer taxes that put money back into your pocket, takes many pensioners out of the tax system altogether and makes it easier for people to come off benefit and get back into work. If you vote Liberal Democrat on Thursday we can have a fair chance for every child. Vote for smaller class sizes and opportunities for every child so that no child is left behind. I am passionate about education as I have seen the difference it can make in opening up opportunities. And if you vote Liberal Democrat on Thursday we can clean up politics for good. Politicians should be made accountable to the people they serve. If I am elected as your MP I will promise to put local people first. I will be there to help, to listen to your concerns and stand up for our community. I will be proud to serve you. This election is very different from elections in the past. Over the last few weeks I have spoken to thousands of people in the constituency and they all tell me that they want something different. This country is crying out for change. Together we can change Britain to make it fairer and open up opportunities for everybody. Let's embrace this opportunity and vote for something different. The Liberal Democrats offer hope for a genuinely different, fairer Britain. Yours sincerely John Edwards
