In the South East England Regional European elections, the Libdems were the only one of the three mainstream political parties to hold their vote share.
The Conservative vote was down 9% on 1999 and the Labour vote was down 6%. In the face of a 10% increase in votes for UKIP, the Libdem vote share was unchanged. In other parts of the UK the Libdem vote share increased a little.
