The Slough and South Bucks Express has reported that South Bucks District Council is to put aside £2.85 million of reserves to cover the cost of moving the Council offices from Slough to Denham.
This is the first news to emerge on this matter since the Conservatives campaigned for the 1999 District Council elections on the promise that they would move the Council offices into South Bucks "at no cost to council tax payers"
If they spend all the money they have reserved it will have cost about £100 for every household in South Bucks.
South Bucks District Council is dominated by Conservative councillors and there are too few other councillors to provide effective opposition and challenge to the ruling group.
